SPECIAL FEATURES

The sporty performance of the BORBET ATX is enhanced by the use of undercut technology. Unnecessary material at the spoke connection is cut away by turning, thus reducing the weight of the wheel while maintaining its strength.

The ATX wheel design shows just how perfectly elegant a polished premium wheel can be. The ExaPeel "Glossy Turning" process guarantees a filigree glossy turn right to the centre.

During glossy turning, the surface is turned on a high-precision, computer-controlled CNC lathe using a diamond cutting insert so that it reflects the light and brings out the natural lustre of the metal. After machining, the wheels are sealed with clear lacquer.

Undercut describes an automated technique in which all non-load-bearing areas of the rim base are removed by mechanical processing. The result: lower wheel weight with the same strength. The higher ventilation cross-section also improves ventilation.
