In particular, we are focussing on reusing process water that has already been used and improving the processes in the paint shops and waste water treatment plants.
raw materials, aluminium can be recycled without any loss of quality. This requires only around a tenth of the energy needed for raw production. When recycling, we return aluminium shavings generated during production to the cycle by melting them. This also applies to wheels that do not meet our quality requirements.

TO THE CODE OF CONDUCT
COMMITMENT TO SOCIETY
In addition to economic and ecological development, the overriding aim of our commitment in the regions where our sites are located is to actively promote social and cultural interaction. In doing so, we focus on the needs of our employees and business partners. Our activities therefore focus on the areas of education and science, health and social affairs as well as sport and culture.EDUCATION AND SCIENCE
As a family business, we see it as our duty to show young people career prospects. We regularly attend regional training exchanges and careers fairs at all our locations. Our trainers also present various professions and possible internships at schools and provide job application training. Our training workshops guarantee practical learning under optimal conditions.
At our Hallenberg-Hesborn and Medebach sites, we support events such as Girl's Day, KAoA (Kein Abschluss ohne Anschluss) and the ProBE school project, which has been running for over ten years and allows pupils to try out different career paths. In the field of science, we have partnerships with the South Westphalia and Nuremberg Universities of Applied Sciences, the Fraunhofer Institute LBF in Darmstadt and the University of Stuttgart.
We are also a partner of science in Bad Langensalza (Thuringia). We work together with ZPF GmbH, the Institute for Integrated Production in Hanover, TU Freiberg and the University of Bremen - together we are researching ways to increase efficiency and optimise the use of energy in production.
In Ranshofen (Austria), we support the Long Night of Research, the LEGO League and schools such as the Commercial Academy (HAK), the Secondary School for Business Professions (HLW) and the Secondary Technical School (HTL).
Education is also particularly important in Port Elizabeth (South Africa). Every year, BORBET awards scholarships to employees' children to enable them to study after high school. The location also invests in further training for its own employees. In May 2019, the first group of managers completed the Supervisory Development Programme at Nelson Mandela University Business School, which trains team leaders and supervisors in topics such as leadership quality, performance and quality management, employee motivation and management decisions in order to be able to operate effectively in a rapidly changing global production environment.
